Mr. Joseph Khattar AM holds the position of Chairman of Dyldam Developments which is one of the ten largest medium density development companies in Australia. Dyldam Developments is a key player in the Australian property market which was founded by Joseph and his father, Naim, in 1969 and later joined by his brothers. The company has flourished over the past four decades and has experience in construction projects valued from $20,000 to $80m.

Mr. Khattar and his parents emigrated from Beirut Airport in Lebanon on 9th October 1967, and arrived in Sydney on October 11th 1967. On his arrival in Australia at the age of 17, Mr. Khattar completed his Higher School Certificate and further education by attending colleges in the evening. Mr. Khattar was awarded Australian Citizenship in September of 1974.

Mr. Khattar holds the position as President of the Australian Lebanese Chamber of Commerce (“ALCC”). The ALCC was founded in Sydney in 1985, and is a well recognized body by both the Australian and the Lebanese Governments. It takes enormous pride in working closely with relevant Government Departments and Diplomatic Missions in both Australia and Lebanon and its key objectives are to promote and strengthen trade relations between Australia and Lebanon and other Middle Eastern countries. The Australian Lebanese Chamber of Commerce has also contributed to selected charities and worthy causes towards both communities.

Mr. Khattar is also Vice President of the George Naim Khattar Foundation, established in 2010 in honour of his late brother.

Mr. Khattar and his family try to take an active involvement and interest in the Lebanese and Australian communities.
