Dr Anthony Hasham is the Founder and Director of Engineering Services Group (ESG), an Australian independent multidisciplinary engineering consultancy established as the successor to Australian Consulting Engineers, which Dr Hasham founded in 1995. Under his leadership, ESG has grown into a multidisciplinary consultancy specialising in the design, documentation and management of small, medium and large-scale residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial developments, with an international presence extending across Australia, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, Cyprus, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Prior to establishing his own engineering consultancy, Dr Hasham gained valuable experience through various engineering roles with large consulting engineering firms. Since 1995, he has been involved in the design, management and delivery of hundreds of construction and development projects, accumulating more than three decades of extensive technical, commercial and management experience across the engineering and construction industries.
Dr Hasham’s multidisciplinary expertise encompasses Structural Engineering, Post-Tensioned Concrete Design, Civil and Stormwater Engineering, Building Services, Temporary Works, Remedial Engineering, Project Management and Development Management. His experience in building services also extends across hydraulic and fire disciplines, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of the design, coordination, and management of complex multidisciplinary developments.
Dr Hasham holds extensive academic qualifications across both engineering and business. He completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, Master of Engineering, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Steel Structures, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA). He is a Chartered Professional Engineer and member of Engineers Australia and the Order of Engineers in Lebanon and KSA and has held professional engineering registrations and accreditations throughout Australia. He sits on many Boards, such as the AUB Board of trustees, and is the representative for the Order of Engineers “Lebanon” in Australia, through SLEAN.
In addition to his engineering and business achievements, Dr Hasham has maintained a significant involvement in corporate, professional and community organisations. He has served as a Director and Vice President of the Australian Lebanese Chamber of Commerce, has served as President of the Maronite Catholic Society of Australia, and Dr Anthony is proud to have been awarded the Order of Australia Medal OAM in 2020.
Dr Hasham has also made a longstanding contribution to the Maronite community in Australia, including serving as a member of the Financial Committee for the Maronite Archdiocese of Sydney and as a building and engineering advisor to St Charbel’s Parish and the Maronite Archdiocese of Sydney. Through these roles, he has contributed his professional expertise and industry experience to the planning, development, and management of significant community projects.
Beyond his professional and community leadership, Dr Hasham is a committed philanthropist and supporter of numerous charitable organisations and initiatives. His charitable involvement has included Oxfam, Cerebral Palsy Alliance Sydney, Maronite Care, Maronites on a Mission, St Merkerios Charity Association, PFS charitable events and Camp Quality, together with many other charitable and community causes.
With more than three decades of experience, Dr Hasham has established a distinguished career combining multidisciplinary engineering expertise, project and development management, entrepreneurship, corporate leadership, and community service, with extensive experience delivering projects throughout Australia and internationally.
